After The Test & Treatment Options
After the Test
Once your specimen is submitted, results are typically processed and available within a few business days. However, processing times may vary. When ready, your results will be delivered in a clear, easy-to-understand report. If any results suggest a potential infection, you’ll receive a call from an independent healthcare coordinator. Independent physicians are also available to answer any questions or discuss your results in detail.

Test Details & What It Measures
A Vitamin B12 test measures the level of cobalamin (vitamin B12) in your blood, a key nutrient that supports nerve function, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis. Vitamin B12 is found in animal-based foods such as meat, eggs, and dairy.
Low levels can cause symptoms like fatigue, memory issues, tingling in hands and feet, and in severe cases, anemia or neurological damage. People at higher risk of deficiency include older adults, vegetarians or vegans, and individuals with conditions that impair absorption, such as pernicious anemia, celiac disease, or gastric bypass surgery.
Normal serum B12 levels typically range from 190 to 950 pg/mL, though some labs may use slightly different ranges. Levels below 200 pg/mL may indicate a deficiency, especially if accompanied by symptoms. Early detection through blood testing allows for supplementation or dietary adjustments, which can prevent long-term complications.
