After The Test & Treatment Options
After the Test
Once your specimen is submitted, results are typically processed and available within a few business days. However, processing times may vary. When ready, your results will be delivered in a clear, easy-to-understand report. If any results suggest a potential infection, you’ll receive a call from an independent healthcare coordinator. Independent physicians are also available to answer any questions or discuss your results in detail.
Treatment Options
As part of your purchase, you have the opportunity to consult with an independent physician. If appropriate, they may be able to prescribe treatment based on your test results.

Test Details & What It Measures
An LH (Luteinizing Hormone) test measures the amount of LH in your blood, a hormone produced by the pituitary gland that plays an essential role in controlling the reproductive system. In women, LH helps regulate the menstrual cycle and triggers ovulation, the release of an egg from the ovary. In men, LH stimulates the testes to produce testosterone, which is critical for sperm production, libido, and muscle mass. An LH test is commonly used to assess fertility issues, menstrual irregularities, early or delayed puberty, or hormonal imbalances.
Normal LH levels vary by age, sex, and the stage of a woman’s menstrual cycle. For adult women, levels may range from 5 to 25 IU/L, depending on the phase of the cycle, and can surge up to 50–200 IU/L at ovulation. In adult men, LH levels typically range from 1.8 to 8.6 IU/L. Abnormally high or low LH levels may indicate conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), primary ovarian insufficiency, hypogonadism, or pituitary gland disorders. The LH test is often used alongside other hormone tests, such as FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and testosterone, to evaluate the broader hormonal picture.
