After The Test & Treatment Options
After the Test
Once your specimen is submitted, results are typically processed and available within a few business days. However, processing times may vary. When ready, your results will be delivered in a clear, easy-to-understand report. If any results suggest a potential infection, you’ll receive a call from an independent healthcare coordinator. Independent physicians are also available to answer any questions or discuss your results in detail.
Treatment Options
As part of your purchase, you have the opportunity to consult with an independent physician. If appropriate, they may be able to prescribe treatment based on your test results.

Test Details & What It Measures
A Serum Glucose test measures the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood and is commonly used to screen for and monitor diabetes or pre-diabetes. Glucose is the main source of energy for your body’s cells and is regulated by the hormone insulin. This test is typically done after fasting for at least 8 hours (called a fasting blood glucose test) or at any random time (called a random glucose test). Elevated glucose levels may suggest insulin resistance, type 1 or type 2 diabetes, or other metabolic issues, while low glucose levels can indicate hypoglycemia, which may cause symptoms like dizziness, confusion, or fainting.
Normal fasting glucose levels range from 70 to 99 mg/dL. A result between 100 and 125 mg/dL is considered pre-diabetic, and a level of 126 mg/dL or higher on two separate tests indicates diabetes. For a random glucose test, a reading of 200 mg/dL or higher with symptoms of high blood sugar may also indicate diabetes. Glucose testing is a vital part of routine health screening and helps guide decisions about diet, medication, and lifestyle changes.
